So on saturday I managed to meet the ApprenticeA crew at the Paris meet up, but I left early. This is why:

Let me begin by saying they’re super nice! kutos to the event planners.

The whole time I was at the gathering I was overcome by butterflies in my stomach. It was the same feeling I get when public speaking; I felt as if I was in third person inside my body watching myself speak. I became the least interesting person in the world and just stood there thinking: “oh f-, this is happening right now. What do I do? This is like the vlog, but in real-time.”

Eventually I left early because it was too weird! but why? After some pondering I think I’ve got it: Being an avid watcher of the ApprenticeEh Vlogs I know so much already about their lives. I could address everyone by their first name, I know what the inside of their house looks like, and I could actually tell them what they’ve been doing for the last year. If I really thought about it I could probably even tell them when they each got their last haircut. It’s a bizarre form of voyeurism that I just can’t get over. I was introducing myself to someone for the first time that I already knew so much about.

(Seriously? You’re here because of the vlog and you ask them what they’ve been doing lately? haha whyyyyyy… facepalm)

Having had this experience, I’m not sure I can watch the vlogs anymore. I’m torn about this, but it’s too bizarre in retrospect. It’s a relationship from a perspective I’d rather not have.
